Its all about the planning.
Its all about the planning.
On our way up the river.
The first of many.
Accommodation for 100. Apparently.
Decaying colonialisation.
A feeling of desolation on James Island.
A spec of land in a world of river.
The sun sets once again.
Iain gets the proportions of the salad a little wrong.
Critter after critter.
So much wildlife.
The river Gambia is kind to us.
Is that one boat or two.
Flashes of pink.
Cerulean get ready for their scary bridge clearance.
Ruffian waits.
The day didn’t end the way the fisherman (or we) wanted.
We finally get free of the nets.
The damage is done to both Ruffian and Iain.
Under we go.
We’re through.
Just how are there any fish left in the river?
Cerulean go shopping for dinner.
We do some good but wish we could do more.
We get the lowdown on educational challenges.
Educate your girl child
So few resources.
The horticulture project of which they are so proud.
This is what happens if we forget about the tide.
We’re like pied pipers.
Inquisitive faces.
So many questions.
The village medical clinic, and smart new ambulance.
Drumming and dancing.
We sit off the village, rice fields behind the mangroves.
We show our guests our ‘hot’ technical clothing.
Our honoured guests and new friends.
Ready for the off again.
